ToggleCognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most widely researched and effective forms of psychotherapy for both mental health and substance use disorders. At its core, CBT is based on the understanding that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns, clients can influence their emotions and actions in positive ways.
At R&R Health, we use CBT to give clients practical tools they can apply immediately in their daily lives. This approach is structured, goal-oriented, and collaborative, meaning clients work alongside their therapist to set objectives, track progress, and celebrate breakthroughs.
CBT focuses on identifying the automatic thoughts that influence emotional responses and behaviors. Many of these thoughts are based on deeply ingrained beliefs that may not reflect reality. By challenging and reframing these thoughts, clients can reduce distress and respond more effectively to challenges.
Key elements include:

Our clinicians integrate CBT into both individual and group therapy settings. Sessions may involve guided exercises, thought records, role-playing, or real-life assignments that help clients practice skills between sessions. We also use CBT to support relapse prevention planning, helping clients identify triggers and create strategies for managing them without returning to harmful behaviors.
You do not have to face this alone. Whether you are seeking help for yourself or a loved one, our admissions team will guide you every step of the way.
