Co occurring disorders treatment at R & R Health addresses the complex relationship between substance use and mental health conditions. Many individuals struggling with addiction also experience anxiety, depression, trauma related conditions, or mood disorders. Treating only one condition often leaves the other unresolved. R & R Health provides integrated care that treats both simultaneously to support lasting recovery and emotional stability.
Our approach recognizes that mental health and substance use are deeply connected. Effective treatment requires coordinated clinical care, self care practices, and experiential healing that support the whole person.
Integrated and Individualized Treatment
At R & R Health, co occurring disorders treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand how mental health symptoms and substance use interact. Treatment plans are individualized and adjusted as clients progress, ensuring care remains responsive and effective.
Clinical services include individual therapy, group therapy, mental health counseling, and relapse prevention education. Group therapy is a key component of treatment and is supported by research from the American Psychological Association showing improved outcomes for individuals with co occurring conditions through peer engagement and accountability.
Addressing Mental Health and Addiction Together
R & R Health treats co occurring disorders by addressing emotional regulation, coping skills, and behavioral patterns that contribute to both mental health symptoms and substance use. Clients learn strategies to manage anxiety, depression, trauma responses, and stress without relying on substances.
Individual therapy provides space for deeper emotional processing, while group therapy offers connection, validation, and shared understanding. These modalities work together to support comprehensive healing.
Holistic and Experiential Support
Self care plays a critical role in managing co occurring disorders. R & R Health integrates holistic services that support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and physical wellness.
Clients receive access to fitness based recovery programming through UFC gym access, surf therapy every other week to promote mindfulness and stress reduction, and monthly horseback riding in Rancho Palos Verdes to support emotional awareness and trust building. Hypnotherapy is also available to help address underlying emotional patterns and support behavioral change.

Co occurring disorders treatment at R & R Health includes vocational coaching and individualized case management to support daily structure and real world stability. Clients receive guidance with goal setting, routine development, accountability, and ongoing care coordination.
By addressing both emotional health and practical life needs, R & R Health helps clients build confidence, independence, and resilience.
